The Ford EcoBoost Engine

Ford Motors has created what they call an EcoBoost 3.5-liter, V-6 EcoBoost engine. This engine was made to go into Ford Motors Company vehicles the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles in North America. The new Lincoln MKS which is a sedan style vehicle will be the first vehicle to receive this engine in 2009 opening the market up to this newly powered system. Ford Motor says that it will be giving the contract to their Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1 in suburban Brook Park district. This is very good for the residents as this will ensure that their plant will not be closed at least for now. The news has caused others from surrounding plants to try to get a position at this plant or be transferred into the plant when the new production begins.

Many people have vied for a job in the plant as they are afraid with the declining economy their plant might suffer even more cut backs or be closed altogether. This is not an answer to the global warming problems but it is part of the solution to the economic situation. The new EcoBoost technology uses gasoline turbocharged direct-injection for up to 20% better fuel economy, with 15% fewer CO2 emissions and a much better driving performance versus the V 8 engines. This is in itself a major help to everyone when it comes to the rising cost of gasoline the new EcoBoost Engine will be economically sound vehicle to own. The engine will get about 26 miles per gallon on the highway and about 20 miles per gallon in city driving.
